Discussion of symptoms: The results of my current assessment indicate that Dylan could possibly be suffering from symptoms that are related to a number of disorders (D.O). Nevertheless, Dylan has experienced a recent trauma in his life; therefore I examined trauma-and stressor-related diagnosis in The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th ed.; DSM–5; American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Ordinarily, his diagnosis would have lined up well with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which diagnostic criteria 309.81 (F43.10) required the presence of one (or more) PTSD symptoms to have occurred. De velopmentally Dylan was showing all the signs of an adolescent his age. Nothing in his past revealed him having any symptoms or problems that would indicate he was suffering from any type of stress disorder.
