Discussion of symptoms: The results of my current assessment indicate that Dylan could possibly be suffering from symptoms that are related to a number of disorders (D.O). Nevertheless, Dylan has experienced a recent trauma in his life; therefore I examined trauma-and stressor-related diagnosis in The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th ed.; DSM–5; American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Ordinarily, his diagnosis would have lined up well with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which diagnostic criteria 309.81 (F43.10) required the presence of one (or more) PTSD symptoms to have occurred.
